It was a sunny day in Hilly Fields. The grass was green, the tree's were tall, and the refreshing breeze was relaxing.
All the forest animals were out. It was a perfect day for flying, Jeremy the squirrel knew this, because he was flying that day. He saw the frogs hoping happily, the birds singing soundly, and the geese roaming freely. One animal, however, was missing: Wilkens the Tabby Cat. A good friend of Jeremy, Wilkens had protected not only Jeremy but many other forest creatures from the blood-thirsty wild cats of the forest. Jeremy thought and thought but could not conjure an answer that riddled his mind: Where is Wilkens?
Jeremy flew far and wide, asking to and fro. No one knew Wilkens where abouts. Finally, near the edge of the dark water falls, Jeremy heard a faint cat cry. Jeremy spared no thought at the question if it was Wilkens. Jeremy dived right in the dark water falls where he thought he heard the cry.
There was only the dark shadow laid stream. Then near a bush was a sight of red: Wilkens tail! Jeremy gracefully approached the tail, only to find it was only a red leaf.
The next thing Jeremy heard was a laughing noise, and--without further warning--pounced Wilkens, right on Jeremy.
"I believe you will find it most disheartening to learn a new fact," Wilkens said. Jeremy asked, and so Wilkens continued:
"The bloodthirsty wildcats have convinced me in the benefits of hunting, which outweigh the benefits of befriending," Wilkens said smoothly.
Jeremy could only gulp.
"Worry not, old friend, you'll be put out as subtly as candlelight."
Wilkens raised his paw, claws and all, ready to rip Jeremy's jugular, when--
"YOU MAY WISH TO RECONSIDER!" said a squirrel, from behind Jeremy & Wilkens.
"And who..." Wilkens turned around to look and saw a seemingly mad squirrel, with a foamy mouth.
"I am none other than Sesame Peanut the Second, brother to none other than Hokus Pokus,"
"Oh, good! Another squirrel to mangle!"
"Your eyes err! Can you not see the foam in my mouth? Did your mother not tell you to stay away from rabid animals, such as myself?" said Sesame.
Wilkens trifled his whiskers.
"Your heroic plan lacks thought."
"ATTACK THE PAW!" yelled Sesame.
A whole army of squirrels had summoned behind Sesame. Wilkens, however, did have the last word:
"One more step and this--" Wilkens eye were wide open, but they saw no Jeremy. In all this argument, Jeremy had gracefully slipped by already. Wilkens ran with his tail between his leg, all the while offering a portend:
"This isn't the last you've seen of Wilkens Tabby Cat, you squirrels!!!"
Spring had come to the land of Hilly Fields, and all was well. No forest animal had seen the bloodthirsty cats all month and all was at peace. There was concord among the squirrels once again.
